Essential factors to consider when choosing customized curtains for your windows and living spaces.
Light Control Options
- Sheer: Gently diffuses daylight while allowing an outside view during the day.
- Dimout: Reduces glare and softens ambient light, suitable for living and dining spaces.
- Blackout: Specifically designed with dense weave or layered backing to significantly reduce light penetration for restful bedrooms.
Hanging & Pleat Styles
- Ripple Fold (S-Fold): Smooth, uniform waves gliding along slim track channels for a modern architectural finish.
- Eyelet / Grommet: Sturdy metallic rings sliding directly on curtain poles, easy to operate.
- Pinch Pleat: Tailored folds gathered permanently at the header, suited for classic and formal interiors.
Measuring Window Openings
- Width: Measure the track or rod length (not the window frame alone) so curtains can stack back cleanly when opened.
- Fullness: Gathered curtains generally use fabric width greater than track width depending on the pleat style.
- Drop / Length: Measure from the top of the track or rod down to your desired hem position (sill, below sill, or floor level).
